Why invites are limited

You get 25 invites, total. Not per month. For the life of your account. boopr+ raises that to 100.

The number is small on purpose. There are no referral bonuses, no invite streaks, nothing that rewards bringing in as many people as possible. The app gets better when the people on it were chosen carefully, so the system is built to make you choose carefully.

A few mechanics worth knowing:

  • An invite is spent when you create it, not when it gets used.
  • Unused invites expire after 7 days, and the invite comes back to your balance.
  • You can revoke any invite that hasn't been used yet. That also returns it.

Inviting is vouching

When someone redeems your invite, boopr keeps a record that you were the one who brought them in. That's the accountability part: you staked a little bit of your own standing on them.

This isn't about watching anyone. Their posts, their friends, their messages are exactly as private as yours, and being someone's inviter gives you no special view into their account. The record simply answers one question if it ever matters: who vouched for this person?

If someone you invited breaks the rules

When a report against a user is reviewed and our team takes action, the action also counts toward the standing of the person who invited them while the account is new. In the invitee's first month, any action counts, whether that's a warning, a temporary restriction, or a ban; up to six months, only a ban does; after that, they're on their own record entirely.

One incident won't hurt you. People misjudge sometimes, and a single bad call is priced in. But if it becomes a pattern, and three actions land on people you brought in, two things happen:

  • Your account is flagged for human review. A person looks at the situation. Nothing is automated beyond the flag itself.
  • Your remaining invites are cut back, so the pattern can't keep growing while that review happens.

Notice what's not on that list: your posts, your friendships, and your account itself are untouched. Accountability lands on your ability to bring in more people, because that's the judgment being questioned.

The rule of thumb: invite people you'd vouch for in real life. If you'd hesitate to introduce them to your friends at dinner, hesitate here too. That instinct is the entire system.

What this means for your privacy

The invite record is part of the small amount of account metadata we keep, alongside things like when your account was created. It says who invited whom. It says nothing about what anyone posts, and it's separate from your friend list, which is encrypted so we can't read it.

Your inviter knows they invited you, because they handed you the code. Beyond that, nobody's invite history is visible to other users. There are no invite counts on profiles, no trees, no leaderboards. Vouching is a responsibility, not a scoreboard.
