What's on it

The only required field is your name, the one your friends see. Everything else is optional, and you can add as much or as little as you like:

  • A profile photo
  • A short bio
  • Your birthday (month and day only, never the year)
  • Relationship status, work, education, and where you're based

With boopr+, you can set a profile video in place of a still photo.

Only your friends can see it

Your profile is encrypted, and only the friends you've added can decrypt it. There are no public profiles on boopr, no way to look someone up if you aren't connected, and nothing for a search engine to index. People you aren't friends with simply can't see it.

What happens when you unfriend or block

The moment you unfriend or block someone, your profile re-locks with a new key that only your remaining friends receive. From then on, that person can't see your profile or any change you make to it. They may still see the name you had when you last connected, but nothing new. More on blocking.

Your profile holds your full history

Your feed only shows the last 90 days, but your profile keeps everything. A friend can open your profile and scroll all the way back through your posts, at any age. It's the permanent home for what you've shared. More on the feed.

Editing your profile

You can change any of this any time from Settings, then Profile. Your updates are re-encrypted and sent out to your friends automatically.

Share only what you want. Every field except your name is optional, and your birthday never includes the year. Your profile is there for friends to recognize you, not to be a dossier.
