Get the app
Download boopr from the App Store or Google Play. boopr is invite-only, so there's no "sign up." You get in with a code from someone already on it.
-
Paste your invite code
Open the app and enter the code your friend gave you. Each code works once. If it says it's already used, ask them for a fresh one.
-
Pick a username
Choose a username your friends will recognize. No phone number, no email, no contact-list upload. None of that is part of signing up.

Write down your recovery phrase
The app shows you a 24-word recovery phrase. This is the one thing you have to keep. Write it on paper and put it somewhere safe. It's how you get back in if you lose your phone.
Don't skip the recovery phrase. Your account lives on your device, protected by your phone's hardware. We can't see your phrase and we can't reset it for you. That's the trade-off that keeps your stuff private. More on the recovery phrase.
That's it. You're in
Once you're set up, you'll land on your feed. It starts empty because a feed on boopr is just your friends, in the order they posted. Add a few people and it fills in.
To add friends, you trade friend codes in person or by scanning a QR code, and approve each connection yourself. There's no search by name, phone, or email, and no "people you may know." You decide who's in your feed.
What can I do right away?
- Post a photo to your friends. Posts show up in their feed in chronological order, with no algorithm deciding what they see.
- Boop someone: a photo or short video sent to specific friends that's gone once they've seen it.
- Make lists so a post or boop only goes to certain people (close friends, family, whoever).
All of that is free. boopr+ adds video posts, albums, profile video, and more invites, but nothing about the core experience is paywalled.
