What a friend code does
A friend code connects you with someone who's already on boopr, so their posts show up in your feed, yours in theirs, and the two of you can message each other. It's the only way to connect: there's no search, no suggestions, and no contacts upload. If the person isn't on boopr yet, they can set up an account in about three minutes, no invite needed, and then one of you makes a code and the other enters it.

Generate a friend code
In the Friends tab, tap "Add friend" and generate a code. Each code works once and expires after 24 hours. Read it out, share it, or let them scan its QR code.

Your friend enters it
They type the code or scan the QR. It's deliberately a direct handoff. There's no searching for people by name, phone, or email.

Approve the connection
Whoever made the code confirms before anyone's connected. Until then, the other person sees nothing of your profile or posts. Nobody lands in your feed without your say-so, and you can remove a connection later.
Why it works this way
boopr has no "people you may know," no follower counts, and no contacts upload. The only way someone ends up in your feed is that you both added each other on purpose.
How you organize and label your friends is encrypted so we can't read it. Our servers only see which anonymous account IDs are connected, which is what lets us deliver your posts; there are no names or profiles attached that we can see.
No phone number, no contacts. boopr never asks for your phone number or uploads your address book to find people. Friends get added one at a time, by you.
