What boopr+ is, and isn't
Some features cost real money per person to run, mostly video and the storage and bandwidth behind it. boopr+ covers those costs, so the app never has to cover them with ads or your data.
It is deliberately not a status symbol. There's no badge, no special color, and no way for anyone to tell who subscribes. A free account is a first-class account, and the app treats everyone identically everywhere except the handful of features below.
What it unlocks
- Video posts, up to 3 minutes each.
- Albums: 2 to 20 photos in a single post.
- Video boops, up to 15 seconds. Photo boops stay free.
- Profile video: a short loop, up to 20 seconds, that plays in place of your profile photo.
- Animated avatars: a GIF as your profile photo.
- App icons: six alternate looks for the boopr icon on your home screen.
- 100 invites instead of 25.
What stays free
Everything that makes boopr boopr: posting text, photos, and GIFs, the feed, comments, likes, lists, photo boops, screenshot alerts, and account recovery. There are no ads and no daily limits on any of it.
Photo quality is identical whether you pay or not. Every photo gets the same high-quality treatment; we don't downgrade anyone's images to sell an upgrade.
Price and subscribing
$9.99 a month, or $79.99 a year (about a third off). You'll see the exact price in your own currency on the boopr+ screen; it comes straight from the App Store.
To subscribe, open the side menu and tap "boopr+", pick monthly or annual, and confirm with your Apple ID. If your payment needs someone's approval first (Ask to Buy), boopr+ unlocks the moment it completes. Early subscribers also get a permanent Founding Supporter number on their boopr+ screen.
If your subscription ends
Letting boopr+ lapse is designed to be safe. When it ends:
- You can no longer create the gated things: no new video posts, albums, video boops, or profile video.
- Everything you already posted stays up, fully visible to you and your friends. Nothing is ever deleted because a subscription ended.
- Your profile video is hidden from friends, not deleted. You can still see it yourself, and it comes back if you resubscribe.
- An animated avatar freezes to its first frame for friends.
- Your invite allowance stays at 100. It never drops back to 25.
- An alternate app icon you already applied stays applied.
Managing and canceling
The subscription lives with your Apple ID, so managing it happens in the App Store: tap "Manage Subscription" in boopr's Settings, or go to your Apple ID's subscription settings directly. Canceling keeps boopr+ active until the end of the period you've paid for.
On a new phone or after a reinstall, boopr+ comes back on its own once you're signed in. If it doesn't, tap "Restore Purchases" on the boopr+ screen. And if you open boopr somewhere with no connection at all, premium features can act locked until the app reaches the internet once; they unlock again on their own.
Deleting your boopr account does not cancel the subscription. Subscriptions are managed by the App Store, not by us, and we can't cancel one for you. If you're leaving boopr, cancel in the App Store first so you aren't charged again.
