Moving to a new phone

Your account isn't tied to a phone number or an email, so moving it is just a restore:

  1. Install boopr on the new phone

Download it from the App Store or Google Play and open it.

  2. Choose to restore

Enter your 24-word recovery phrase. (If you set up a PIN, you can use your Recovery ID and PIN instead.)

  3. You're back

Your posts, profile, friends, boops, and lists all come back, and you pick up where you left off.

Your old phone gets signed out

boopr keeps your account on one device at a time. The moment you restore on a new phone, the old one is signed out for good and will say it's been replaced. This is on purpose: if your phone is lost or stolen, restoring on a new device cuts the old one off automatically, so whoever has it can't keep getting into your account.

What comes back

Your posts, profile, friends, boops, and your lists (including anyone you've blocked or muted) are all restored. Everything that makes the account yours follows the recovery phrase to the new device.

Lost your phone right now? As long as you have your 24-word recovery phrase, install boopr on any new phone and restore. The lost phone loses access the moment you do. If you never wrote the phrase down, there's no way for us to reset it, so save it before you need it. More on the recovery phrase.
